READ@Uni is a nationwide reading campaign initiated by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia to promote a reading culture across all universities in Malaysia. Its primary objective is to increase reading habits, particularly among university students, with the goal of achieving a higher national reading rate by 2030.
As part of this initiative, Twelfth College has established a dedicated READ@Uni Reading Corner to support and promote the campaign.
The READ@Uni Reading Corner is an initiative by the Sultan Abdul Samad Library, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) aimed at fostering a culture of reading and lifelong learning. In support of this initiative, Kolej Dua Belas has taken proactive steps to develop and enhance its reading corner, making it more creative, comfortable, and user-friendly.
The success of this initiative is the result of close collaboration among the college management, staff, and residents. Key efforts include upgrading the physical reading space, reorganising and expanding the collection of reference and reading materials, and implementing promotional activities through reading campaigns, reading encouragement programmes, and regular knowledge-sharing sessions.
The READ@Uni Reading Corner at Twelfth College has evolved beyond a place for reading. It now serves as:
A knowledge-sharing hub and a relaxing academic space.
A platform for collaboration that strengthens unity among the college community.
A catalyst for developing a knowledgeable, competitive, and intellectually vibrant campus community.
A conducive discussion space for the Twelfth College community.
