TWELFTH COLLEGE SESSION 2025/2026

SERDANG, JUNE 7th – The Recycle@K12 Program is an initiative organized by Secretariat of Green Sustainability and Food Security, College Representative Council, Twelfth College session 2025/2026, in collaboration with the Management of Twelfth College. This program aims to encourage the active involvement of UPM students and the outside community in solid waste management and recycling through the cultivation of the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), while fostering civic awareness, social responsibility, and teamwork. Through active participation throughout the program, attendees have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge regarding the environment and green sustainability, thereby contributing to the institution's sustainability agenda in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The program began at 7:00 a.m. with the gathering, registration, and breakfast for the Committee Members at Surau Serumpun, followed by a brief briefing for the committee and the preparation of the recycling collection area at 7:30 a.m.

The main event, which was the collection of recyclable items, started promptly at 8:00 a.m. at the PJSD Hall, Serumpun College, UPM. A total of 50 participants, consisting of UPM students and the outside community, were present to donate various recyclable goods such as paper, plastic, and cans, effectively putting the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) into practice in their daily lives. Every item collected was sorted by category by the Logistics Committee to ensure that the delivery process to the recycling centre ran smoothly and systematically, while the participants' spirit of cooperation and civic awareness made the program's atmosphere all the more meaningful.

A break and Zuhr prayer session was held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., before the recycling collection activities resumed at 2:00 p.m. At 4:00 p.m., all the collected recyclable items were transported to the recycling centre by the Vairam Recycling Centre. The Recycle@K12 Program officially concluded at 5:00 p.m., drawing the curtains on a highly successful event marked by a strong sense of environmental awareness among the residents of the Twelfth College.
