MALAM EKSPLORASI BUDAYA

TWELFTH COLLEGE SESSION 2025/2026

SERDANG, JANUARY 15th Malam Eksplorasi Budaya programme was organized by the Secretariat of Culture and Arts, College Representative Council, Twelfth College Session 2025/2026, in collaboration with Management of Twelfth College. This programme aims to provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents in traditional dance while introducing the cultural diversity of the various ethnic groups in Malaysia. In addition to serving as a platform for artistic appreciation among undergraduates, traditional art performances also play an important role in preserving the nation’s cultural heritage so that it can be passed on to present and future generations. Through the organisation of this programme, students not only have the chance to hone their skills in the performing arts, but also to strengthen their identity and spirit of unity. The values of cooperation and a sense of belonging fostered through group activities can also help produce students who are more disciplined, creative, and open-minded towards cultural diversity.

The programme begins at 8.00 p.m. with the registration of participants and audience members at Dewan Putra 2, followed by the procession of the honoured guests and accompanied by an opening performance by a lion dance.

The main event, Malam Eksplorasi Budaya, began promptly at 8.40 p.m. with the singing of the national anthem, Negaraku, followed by Putra Gemilang. After the two songs were concluded, a prayer was recited and a speech by the programme director officially opened the dance competition. The first group then performed, followed by the second and third groups, with a vocal performance inserted in between to enliven the atmosphere. The programme continued with three more dance performances by the remaining participants. After all six groups had presented their dances, which were rich in creativity and traditional elements, the master of ceremonies conducted an interview session with the audience to gather their views on the performances. The judges were then brought to a special room for the scoring session, while the event proceeded with another vocal performance by the students.

The programme then continued at 10.00 p.m. with the closing ceremony and prize-giving session, officiated by Ms. Suzziyana Hosni, Head Fellow of College Twelve. An official photography session was held at 10.30 p.m., involving the honoured guests, panel of judges, committee members, and participants, before the programme officially concluded at 11.00 p.m., bringing the Malam Eksplorasi Budaya to a close with great enthusiasm, success and joy.
