K12 EFOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
TWELFTH COLLEGE SESSION 2025/2026
SERDANG, MAY 9th – The K12 eFootball Tournament is a program organized by the Secretariat of Sports and Recreation, College Representative Council, Twelfth College Session 2025/2026, in collaboration with Management of Twelfth College. This program aims to encourage the active involvement of UPM students in esports, which is rapidly growing in line with current digital technology developments. The program aims to make football-based video games a medium for developing strategic, communication, and individual skills among participants. Through a competitive yet relaxed tournament approach, participants will be exposed to elements of tactical planning, decision-making efficiency, and emotional management in pressure situations.
The K12 eFootball Tournament began as early as 8:00 a.m. with the participant registration session held at Dewan Putra 2, Kolej Serumpun, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Participants attended to confirm their participation before being given information regarding the program flow. The registration session proceeded smoothly due to the good cooperation between the organizing committee and the participants. At 8:30 a.m., a briefing and explanation of the tournament format were delivered by the organizers. The briefing covered the tournament rules, scoring system, group division, and matters that participants needed to comply with throughout the tournament.
The group stage matches began at 8:45 a.m. and continued until 1:00 p.m. Participants were divided into several groups to ensure that the tournament could be conducted in an orderly and fair manner. Each participant was given the opportunity to compete against members of their respective groups in an effort to collect as many points as possible to qualify for the knockout stage. The tournament atmosphere became increasingly lively as participants demonstrated their gaming skills, strategies, and high sportsmanship. Cheers and support from friends further enhanced the excitement of the tournament and motivated participants to deliver their best performance.
At 1:00 p.m., the tournament was temporarily halted to allow participants and committee members to rest and perform the Zohor prayer. This break period was also used by the secretariat to review and verify the results of the group stage matches before announcing the list of participants who qualified for the knockout stage. This session continued until 2:00 p.m.
The tournament resumed at 2:00 p.m. with the knockout stage matches. At this stage, only participants who recorded the best results in their respective groups qualified to continue the competition. The matches were conducted in a more competitive atmosphere as each participant strived to avoid elimination and secure a place in the next stage. The final match, held towards the end of the session, witnessed intense competition between the best participants of the tournament. Technical skills, game strategies, and composure during play were the main factors that determined the winner.
After all matches were completed, the closing ceremony and prize-giving session were held at 4:30 p.m. The ceremony was officiated by Ms. Suzziyana Hosni, Head Fellow of College Twelve, together with Advisor Fellow Mr. Mohd Akmal Ali and Monitoring Fellow Mr. Muhammad Solihin Nawai. Prizes and certificates of appreciation were presented to the winners in recognition of their achievements throughout the tournament. At the same time, words of appreciation were also extended to all participants and committee members who had shown commitment in ensuring the success of the program.
At 5:00 p.m., an official photography session was held involving the management team, committee members, and participants. This session aimed to capture memories and serve as the official documentation of the program. The K12 eFootball Tournament then officially ended and dispersed at 5:30 p.m. Overall, the program successfully achieved its objectives and received very encouraging participation from the participants. This tournament not only served as a platform to develop talents in electronic sports but also strengthened relationships and camaraderie among the college community.
