Wilderness Education: Rope Skills K12

SERDANG, January 15 - The Wilderness Education: Rope Skills K12 program is a program organized by the Mountain and Rope Recreation Club, College Twelve for the 2021/2022 session. This program aims to increase students' knowledge about the variety of rope ties as a preparation when doing activities in the forest. Not only that, education about the basics of knots and ties is not only focused on the use of ties in various recreational activities such as camping, jungle trekking, survivor camp and others, but these basics are also widely used in rescue work. The initiative of this program is implemented to improve knowledge for College of Twelve students who want to do forest activities such as hiking or camping. In fact, this program also aims to foster a sense of responsibility in students to take care of their own safety.

 

The guest speaker, Mr. Atan, is giving an introduction on the types of rope ties.

 

The main content of this program consists of an introduction to the types of ropes, the variety of rope ties, and the functions of each tie delivered by the guest speaker Mr. Atan, a recreationist.

The program started at 9:00 am accompanied by Saudara Kannan as moderator who opened the ceremony and invited speakers for the Wilderness Education: Rope Skills K12 program. The program continued with the recitation of prayers and the introduction of the guest speaker's biodata. The program continued with the speaker sharing the importance of learning the basics of rope tying. Next, hands-on activities were held to practice the types of rope ties that had been learned. The Wilderness Education: Rope Skills K12 program was attended by 25 College Twelve students. Finally, the program ends with the closing words of the moderator, a QR code scanning session for filling in the merits of the students present and the program disperses.

 

Participants are directly practicing the type of rope ties that have been taught by the speaker.

 

The speaker is helping the participants in group activities.
